JASNA-ONC is delighted to announce that Jane Austen herself will be visiting our region on September 9, 2018! The wonderful Debra Miller (Greater Chicago RC) will bring our beloved Jane to life for an afternoon with “Just Jane: A Visit With Jane Austen.” More details, including location and time, are forthcoming. Deb will also be performing at Mentor Public Library as Louisa May Alcott on September 10 as part of MPL’s Louisa May Alcott week for those who are interested.

Gillian Dow, Executive Director of Chawton House and Kim Simpson, Chawton House Postdoctoral Fellow have teamed up to create a free online course titled Jane Austen: Myth, Reality and Global Celebrity. This is a great opportunity to connect with Janeites from around the world!

Great Lakes Theater will be staging a production of Pride and Prejudice running October 5-November 4, 2018 at Playhouse Square’s Hanna Theatre in downtown Cleveland. If there is enough interest, we may reserve group tickets for this production.

Lakeside Chatauqua (near Put-in-Bay, OH) is hosting a “Jane at 200” lecture series July 11-12, 2018 featuring Juliette Wells, Elizabeth Conolly Todd Distinguished Professor of English at Goucher College.

The 2018 JASNA AGM Persuasion: 200 Years of Constancy and Hope will take place in Kansas City, Missouri from September 28-30, 2018. Online registration begins in May 2018, so make sure to register early if you plan to attend!

The Call for Papers 2019 JASNA AGM 200 Years of Northanger Abbey: Real, Solemn History has been released for those who are interested in submitting a paper.
